At YOUTH INC LA, our programs are designed to address the most urgent challenges facing underserved youth in Los Angeles — homelessness, unemployment, and lack of access to transportation. We work with each young person individually, offering targeted solutions that empower them to become confident, independent, and successful

Homelessness Prevention in Los Angeles

Stable housing is the foundation for everything else We utilize available housing assets and community partnerships to provide transitional and long-term housing solutions for youth facing homelessness or unstable living situations. Our goal is to prevent street homelessness and offer a safe environment for young people to thrive

Job Readiness & Youth Entrepreneurship

We prepare youth to enter the workforce or create their own opportunities. This program offers resume building and job application support, interview coaching, professional communication training, and entrepreneurship workshops. Participants gain real-world skills to secure jobs or launch small businesses, boosting self-confidence and financial independence

Transportation Assistance Program

Access is everything Many youth lose out on opportunities simply because they can't get there. We provide transit passes, ride-share vouchers, and help with scheduling transportation to job interviews, school, or vital appointments. Reliable transportation means access to education, employment, and essential services — a key step toward independence

Music Entrepreneur Program

Created by our founder Dr. Kalilu Kamara, this unique program combines creative talent with business knowledge

Youth learn how the music industry works, branding and marketing, studio and performance skills, and how to earn income through music. This program is directly connected to our sister site SoundsAwesomeRecords.com

Individualized Support

Each participant works with our case managers to develop a personalized plan that may also include mental health support, counseling and mentorship, and educational goal-setting. We’re not just offering services — we’re building futures
